Garage boxes

People who live in Hiinalinn, also need to store their cars and belongings, therefore a big part of the area consists of garage boxes.

This is how I always remember Hiinalinn, even if this is gone once.

Forgotten memories

I was silly not to take all of those photos there, except one, which I kept in my notebook - a polaroid of a man sleeping in the kitchen and hiding behind thick blanket.

This is home

Therefore you can see many so-called box houses, which were built especially for the Soviet army workers and their families.

I'm looking through you

Hiinalinn and the guerilla gardens behind it are there because of the Soviet army personnel, who were brought to Tartu due their work.

Former shop "Saluut"

Former store front of a grocery store "Saluut" (Salute). Soviet times introduced a comibination of friendship, unity and other similar names, which were put to describe the regime of USSR. This is one of the last original store fronts available in Tartu. A landmark.

Garbage

Hiinalinn is struggling with the amount of garbage people come to dispose there.

Laundry day

The next 12 frames are all taken on one day, during my visit to my beloved Hiinalinn aka Chinatown located in Tartu, Estonia.

Fall in Ballahack

This is a lake I come around every time I am in this area. I have seen some most wonderful wildlife there.

Fall in Ontario vol. 3

This is my favorite spot whenever I return to the countryside. I have seen my first porcupine, beaver and some other crawlers here. Fall is especially beautiful, especially during fall time.
