Anneli was once the project manager of a summer movie festival in Tartu, Estonia, called tARTuff. We did some co-operation and she wanted my photo I took at the festival to publish as a postcard for it. 

When in Tallinn that fall, I gave a visit to her and took this nice portrait of her.

I think there will never be a better street name than that, and I am sure this is not even from there, but the sign has bought it. Old shed which no longer exists, as they have built a new pier and port there.

Pavement developing

Money has come in and the works have started - new pavement in downtown Tartu.

It is a very enjoyable area, not totally developed, therefore leaving natural trails and lots of green everywhere.

There were once the old-school USSR era playgrounds for children, due to a child's death, they were taken down. During summer this is the most popular and busy beach in Tartu, which can't be compared to any other beaches, as this is just so tiny. On the background you can see Tartu's only skyscraper Tigurorn.

This is my favorite building in Tartu. I have wanted to go in there and see it inside as well, but no luck so far. This photo doesn't do any justice, so I have to make a new one in the near future. Pardon.

Eye of the sky

I have seen such an opening during the sunset only once in my life. Glad it happened behind a spectacular foreground.

I consider this one of my best sunset of Tartu. Looks great on slide.

Surprise fog by Sõpruse Bridge

I was on my way to a photography training and I experienced this surprise fog near the Anne canal and on Sõpruse Birdge. I guess that is the beauty of fall.

Not exceptional on my photograph, but it is when you experience it.

Me and Noova

I think this is the last photo of Noova. I really adored that dog, but when I cam back home being away for a year, she was no longer at the shelter and there were new unpleasant people at work, so I didn't ask what has happened to her and stopped going there. Unknown.

This building has been demolished as well. 

Noova, I miss you

Whatever has happened to you, I hope you are safe and at your best health.

My favorite dog - Noova

This is the best shot I ever managed to get of her. When I started at animal shelter, my supervisor told me that you can pet all the dogs except Noova. Well, so I did, as I obeying the rules. Then every week I came I started approaching her and talking to her until one point she allowed me to go near. I didn't do anything, but further on I could touch her and soon we started walking in the yard and then we went to our longer walks outside. We became true friends. When we sat to enjoy the sun, she sat between my legs and guarded me.

So this is how me and my lovely Noova wandered around where people usually do not go.

Garages

When I was volunteering at the animal shelter, I often took the dogs for longer walks and then I came across many old buildings left behind by the Russian army in the 1990's. Here is just an example what you could see there.

I was interning for few months at Fotoluks' Tartu shop. There is a little room for workers, where they usually have their lunch-breaks. For my great surprise, I found a nice frames poster with Ansel Adams photo. So O.G.!

Tellissaare apples

These apples can last until the next years June, but in February the apples are especially good. This is a winter apple, so you can store it and enjoy throughout the winter season. 

The name is coming from Pilistvere, where this species was brought up around 1930's, in a Tellissaare farm from the seeds brought from Poland, which were unknown. 

Apples are covered with a strong wax layer. You can transport Tellissaare easily as it lasts the road and also good for making apple juice, but not good when marinated.
