This is the first shot of my and Maria's hitch-hiking trip to Western Iceland. The plan was to reach to Drangsnes by the end of the first day, which we managed, as here you can see a view to its port.

Parcel from home

One thing was enough that Maria came to visit me in Iceland, but the other thing was that mom had put together a real survival food kit of the things I had been missing out. Thank you both!

Tried to get a nice portrait of Birtna. She is an amazing person, but also very talkative and not into posing, therefore had not much luck taking one good one of her.

I have unfortunately forgotten this lovely painters name, but I really loved her art and I ended up buying one of her pieces to my mom. Yeah, very practical of me - to buy a painting from Iceland to take it to Estonia.

Oh and as you can see, I still made focusing errors....

Ásbyrgi

Ásbyrgi canyon lies in the north of Iceland, about two hours' drive to the east from Akureyri. The horseshoe-shaped depression is part of the Jökulsárgljúfur National Park and measures approximately 3.5 km in length and 1.1 km across. For more than half of its length, the canyon is divided through the middle by a distinctive rock formation 25 meters high called Eyjan ("the Island"), from which hikers may enjoy spectacular views.
